As India-Pakistan tension flares up once again with Pakistan violating ceasefire, the spotlight is not only on political and military developments but also on public figures who shape opinions, especially Bollywood stars.
While many celebrities like Harshvardhan Rane, Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan have taken to social media to voice their support to India’s Operation Sindoor, a few high-profile actors have chosen to remain silent.
Bollywood actors silent on India-Pakistan tension
While Pakistani actors who have worked in Indian films have taken side with their country, risking losing out on work in India forever, silence of some Indian superstars has sparked debate among fans and the media alike. Let’s look at four actors who remained silent on Operation Sindoor, examining the impact of their silence amid growing tensions between India and Pakistan.
1. Shah Rukh Khan
Shah Rukh Khan who made headlines with his historic Met Gala debut 2025, has not spoken up on India’s ongoing tension with Pakistan so far. The actor was in New York for his Met Gala debut when India launched Operation Sindoor in the wake of the Pahalgam terrorist attack in Kashmir. Shah Rukh has returned to India but he still has not shared his opinions on India and Pakistan conflict.

3. Vaani Kapoor
Fawad Khan’s Abir Gulaal co-star and Indian actress Vaani Kapoor silently removed all the posts with Fawad Khan and their film Abir Gulaal from her instagram. 4. Salman Khan
Salman Khan did not speak on Operation Sindoor until the India-Pakistan ceasefire was not announced. Salman wrote in his post, “thank god for the ceasefire.” However, he deleted it soon after Pakistan violated the ceasefire. Salman Khan posted a picture with his mom Salma Khan and step-mother Helen on mother’s day 2025.
Bollywood actors are among the most influential voices after politicians, especially during national crises. Their words can offer support and shape public sentiment in tense times. However, it’s important to respect their right to speak or stay silent. Freedom of choice is a cornerstone of the democracy we all cherish.
