In a bold and patriotic move that’s making headlines, actor Harshvardhan Rane has walked out of Sanam Teri Kasam 2, distancing himself from co-star Mawra Hocane after her controversial anti-India comments amid the ongoing India-Pakistan tensions.
The actor, known for his patriotic stance and no-nonsense attitude, reportedly chose principle over project, refusing to share screen space with someone who disrespected the nation. Many Pakistani actors who have worked in India have posted against India’s Operation Sindoor in which the Indian army targeted terrorist camps in Pakistan in the wake of Pahalgam terror attack.

Haarshvardhan Rane is best known for his movie Sanam Teri Kasam with Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane. Sanam Teri Kasam has a large number of fans. The movie didn’t perform well at the box office but is loved by fans across the world. This led to the makers, Radhika Rao, Vinay Sapru announcing Sanam Teri Kasam 2 with Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane.
Mawra Hocane’s anti-India comment
Mawra Hocane gained stardom and fans post Sanam Teri Kasam release. Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane were loved for their stunning on-screen chemistry which motivated the makers to go for a sequel with the same star cast.

However, Mawra Hocane’s comments against India’s Operation Sindoor has led to a wide range of condemnation from her fans in India. On her instagram story, Mawra wrote, “strongly condemn India’s cowardly act against Pakistan. Innocent civilians have lost their lives. May Allah protect us all. May sense prevail.”
Harshvardhan Rane slams Mawra Hocane
Harshvardhan Rane took to his instagram story slamming co-actor Mawra, “…after reading the direct comments made about my country, I have made a decision to respectfully decline to be a part of Sanam Teri Kasam part 2 if there’s any possibility of the previous cast being repeated.”
He also shared a snapshot of Mawra Hocane’s instagram story in which she called India’s Op Sindoor ‘cowardly,’ Rane furter wrote, “I respect all the artists and humans of this country, that country, Kenya and even Mars, but this kind of derogatory remarks about my country by anyone is unpardonable.” He further wrote that he is okay with losing out followers but won’t allow anyone to “walk over the pride and upbringing.”
Pakistani actors who have worked in India like Fawad Khan, Mawra Hocane, Hania Amir adn Mahira Khan have all called India’s Operation Sindoor a ‘cowardly act’ claiming that India killed innocent children and civilians. Meanwhile, India only targeted terrorist base camps killing many terrorists and their family members. 10 family members of India’s most wanted terrorist Masood Azhar were also killed.
