Vinod Khanna Madhuri Dixit kissing controversy: Veteran actor Vinod Khanna known for his charm and on-screen romance was mostly seen in intense and rugged characters who would smash 100 goons at the same time. However, during the filming of Dayavan, Vinod Khanna reportedly lost control and continued kissing the actress even after the director had called cut. This led to a huge controversy that cost the director of Dayavan one crore rupees.

Dayavan, directed by Feroz Khan, was released in 1988. Dayavan starred Vinod Khanna and Madhuri Dixit in lead roles. The film also had Feroz Khan himself and actor Aditya Pancholi. According to an entertainment portal, during the filming of Dayavan’s super hit song ‘Aaj phir tum pe pyaar aaya hai,’ Vinod Khanna reportedly lost self control and continued kissing Madhuri Dixit even after Feroz Khan called a cut.
Some reports also suggest that Vinod Khanna even bit Madhuri on her lips in the heat of the moment. Madhuri Dixit was only 20 years old when this happened. She was left utterly uncomfortable and kept crying. Vinod Khanna later apologised to her but 70s and 80s were a tough time for female actors, especially for those coming from non-filmy family background.

The song has some intimate scenes of Vinod Khanna and Madhuri Dixit. During the filming of this song, was when Vinod went a little too far and crossed all boundaries. Madhuri was only 20, trying to make a name for herself while Vinod Khanna was already a superstar. Vinod Khanna later apologised to Madhuri.

Feroz Khan was sent a legal notice to remove the intimate scenes from Dayavan. However, Vinod Khanna and Feroz Khan spent Rs 1 crore to keep the scenes in the movie. Even Madhuri Dixit wanted him to remove those scenes but Vinod Khanna kept on insisting to have them in the movie.
Vinod Khanna and Madhuri’s bold scenes were the talk of the town. Khanna himself has confessed in one of his interviews that he is no saint when it comes to women and s**, “Well, I was a bachelor, and I am no saint as far as women are concerned. I need sex as much as anybody else does.”

Vinod Khanna was at the peak of career when he left the industry abruptly and took upon the path of spirituality. Vinod became an ardent fan of spiritual leader Rajneesh Osho. He later on served as the member of parliament from the BJP and acted in a few films.
Meanwhile, the 20 year old girl from Dayavan went on to become a huge superstar with blockbuster movies like Ram Lakhan, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Devdas, Dil to pagal hai and more. Madhuri Dixit married cardiovascular surgeon Dr Shriram Nene in 1999 and moved to the USA. She returned to India a few years later along with her husband and family.
