India’s Got Latent Controversy: Ranveer Allahbadia and Ashish Chanchlani appeared before the Maharashtra Cyber Cell in Thane on Monday after missing two previous summons. They were questioned about a controversial remark made on Samay Raina’s YouTube show, India’s Got Latent, which led to multiple FIRs against them, along with Raina and Apoorva Mukhija.

Ranveer, known as “BeerBiceps,” faced backlash for asking a disturbing question about parents and sex. The Supreme Court, while protecting him from immediate arrest, criticized his comments, calling them “vulgar.” He is currently barred from traveling outside India and must cooperate with the investigation.
During his four-hour questioning, Ranveer admitted his mistake, saying, “I shouldn’t have said that.” He explained that he appeared on the show as a friend of Samay Raina and didn’t receive any payment. Meanwhile, Ashish Chanchlani’s questioning lasted longer.
Ranveer later apologized publicly, saying, “My comment was not appropriate or funny. It was a lapse in judgment.” The National Commission for Women (NCW) has also summoned him, Raina, and Mukhija for further questioning. Ranveer and Mukhija must appear on March 6, while Raina has been called on March 11.
As the investigation continues, the Maharashtra Cyber Cell has summoned over 50 people linked to the show, including influencers, guests, and judges. In response to the backlash, Raina has deleted all episodes of India’s Got Latent from YouTube.
