Gadar director Anil Sharma revealed that he saved Priyanka’s Bollywood career after Priyanka Chopra’s nose job went wrong. He also said that he stopped Priyanka from leaving Mumbai and helped her get back to work.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, filmmaker Anil Sharma, who is promoting his film Vanvaas that also stars his son Utkarsh Sharma and senior actor Nana Patekar, made startling revelations about Priyanka Chopra’s nose job, something the Hollywood actress opened up about last year on a talk show.
Anil Sharma said that Priyanka Chopra had decided to leave for Bareilly after her nose surgery went wrong. It was him who stopped her from leaving Mumbai and helped to revive her career. He said he made a few calls and got a veteran makeup artist who worked at Yash Raj Films who helped with Priyanka Chopra’s nose. They also worked out on her costume and did a screen test before sending out the final CD.
“Then I sent that CD and everyone was like ‘Who is this girl?’ It was her luck. Her nose operation going wrong wasn’t her fault and if we can correct it, why shouldn’t we?” said Anil Sharma during the promotions of his latest film Vanvaas with son Utkarsh Sharma.
Priyanka Chopra’s Nose Job
Anil also revealed that Priyanka Chopra’s nose surgery was not a gig to look like someone else but was a medical condition that needed operation. He said he thought Priyanka did a nose job to look like Hollywood star Julia Roberts but got to know the truth when Priyanka confronted him later on. “I read somewhere that she did so to look like Julia Roberts so I scolded her also. Then I got to know the truth that this wasn’t the case. She had an issue with her nose, it was a medical operation that went bad so it wasn’t her fault,” he said.

Anil Sharma said that Priyanka Chopra’s nose surgery led to her losing lots of films. She got fired from many projects and she had to return the token money. Given all this, Priyanka decided to leave for Bareilly where her father was working in the Indian army.
Anil recalled, “She said my father is already back in Bareilly and has rejoined his duty in the army. Her mother said she will also resume her practice. They thought it will take some time for Priyanka to heal so they will come back after a year or so. They were paying so much rent here and they were regular people, not like Ambanis. I told them to stop.”
“At that time, I had already given her a token of Rs 5 lakh. She came with the cheque. She said I have been fired and now I am moving back to Bareilly. They said they were waiting to give my money back. I said you keep the money and I scolded her a bit. She then told me what actually happened with her nose.”
