Babil Khan is right about toxic Bollywood: 5 times groupism nearly ended careers of these actors

babil khan

Babil Khan made headlines last Sunday with a video on his instagram in which the actor was seen having an emotional breakdown. Babil, who is known for his good manners and soft behaviour, last sunday bursted out at the toxic bollywood culture. In his video, Babil said that bollywood is the fakest industry and that people are very rude and toxic.

However, he gave a big shout out to his friends Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, Raghav Juyal and more. He said ‘there are people like Shanaya Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Raghav Juyal, Arjun Kapoor..’ which led to some misunderstandings, however, cleared by his team later.

How Bollywood affects the Mental Health of artists

This whole Babil Khan breakdown video brings out attention back to mental health and bullying in Bollywood. Many actors have come out and spoken up on not getting work and support due to nepotism, groupism and favoritism.

Bollywood’s global icon Priyanka Chopra herself has addressed this matter many times. Priyanka has recalled many times how she was ignored and made to feel left out by some people in the industry. With the hope that Babil Khan feels better very soon, let’s talk about the time when bollywood was seriously very ‘rude’ AND ‘toxic.’

Babil Khan spoke the truth: 5 actors who were ignored by bollywood

Bollywood groupism is once again in the spotlight after Babil Khan’s bold comments about the industry’s toxic culture. His words echo the experiences of many outsider actors who have faced nepotism, silent boycotts and mental health struggles due to being excluded from parties, shows, films and public appearances.

1. Priyanka Chopra

Before conquering Hollywood, Priyanka Chopra was quietly being sidelined in Bollywood. Despite being one of the biggest stars, she revealed that she was ‘pushed into a corner’ and wasn’t getting roles. Rumors of powerful camps working against her began circulating and her fallout with a few top names reportedly cost her big films. It was this toxic environment that made her pack her bags and head to Hollywood where she rebuilt her career on her own terms.

2. Randeep Hooda

Despite being a phenomenal actor, Randeep Hooda has not been appreciated well for his acting skills. Randeep has from time and again proved himself in movies like Extraction, Highway and Sarbjit. “I don’t know why people didn’t appreciate me publicly. But I am not sad about it. When they meet, they meet nicely, and they will call me, but they don’t talk about it publicly. I also didn’t get any big award for acting.”

3. Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut swirled the entire industry when she spoke out against Karan Johar and Hrithik Roshan. Kangana appeared on Koffee with Karan and blatantly called him a flag bearer of nepotism. She has spoken against groupsim in the industry and how she was never supported or offered good roles because she was an outsider.

4. Avinash Tiwary

“I get upset when somebody non-deserving gets the role,” said Laila Majnu actor Avinash Tiwary in an interview. Avinash Tiwary reflected on nepotism saying that those who have money can easily become famous but that doesn’t last long. Despite having tremendous potential and skills, Avinash Tiwary has still not managed to be a mainstream commercial actor like many other star kids. Avinash is also never spotted with or in any of the bollywood circles.

5. Vivek Oberoi

Salman Khan is known is the biggest bully of bollywood. Anyone who upsets him is boycotted in the industry and Vivek and Salman’s feud is not hidden from the world. Vivek Oberoi publicly apologised to Salman, however, he didn’t forgive him. This turned Vivek’s acting career upside down. He started losing good roles despite being an amazing actor.
