Groom Beaten By Bride’s Family: In shocking news, a groom in Uttar Pradesh was thrashed by the bride’s family for giving Rs 5,000 instead of Rs 50,000.
Mohammad Sabir, a resident of Chakrata in Dehradun, was set to marry Khurshid’s daughter from Garhmalpur village in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh. On Saturday, he and his wedding procession left Dehradun and reached Bijnor for the ceremony. The families had been preparing for the big day for weeks. Everyone was excited and looking forward to the celebrations.

What Happened

According to the reports, the incident happened when the bride’s sister stole the groom’s shoes as a traditional ritual that takes place in every Indian wedding. As per the wedding rituals in India, the bride’s sister hides the groom’s shoes and demands money to give them back.
When the bride’s sister demanded Rs 50,000 from the groom in return for his shoes, he gave her Rs 5,000 instead. Allegedly, a few women from the bride’s family called the groom a ‘beggar’ at this which led to an argument between both the families.

Similar cases are reported in the state of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar from time to time where the wedding procession turns into a wrestling arena with both the groom and bride’s families fighting each other for petty issues.
