Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar have officially joined forces for an exciting new project titled Naagzilla. Earlier today, Karan Johar dropped the motion poster on Instagram, giving fans a thrilling first look at Kartik in a completely fresh avatar.
In the short clip, Kartik, dressed in blue jeans, stands with his back to the camera inside a snake den, gazing out at a distant cityscape. Now, this has caught reddit’s attention as the users discovered that the picture of Kartik Aaryan in the Naagzilla’s poster is actually his old instagram pic. Hilarious, right? I love reddit for such hot discoveries.

Dharma productions announced the upcoming big project of Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar together which also marks an end to their rumored rift. The movie is titled Naagzilla featuring Kartik Aaryan as a 631 years old shape-shifting serpent. This is Dharma’s official entry into the folklore fantasy cinema.
Kartik Aaryan is currently busy shooting for his upcoming movie Aashiqui 3 with Sreeleela. Aashiqui 3 has already whipped up hype over the internet with its punchy and romantic scenes. Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar had a long rift for some reasons that kept the two apart from working with each other. Kartik Aaryan was part of a Dharma film but walked out due to his feud with Karan.

Kartik Aaryan’s Naagzilla
With Naagzilla, Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar are collaborating for the first time. The movie looks promising and entertaining. Naagzilla will hit the theatres on 14 August, 2026, clashing with Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya 2.
The movie poster of Kartik Aaryan’s Naagzilla is allegedly made using Kartik Aaryan’s old Instagram picture. “They could have used any old nagraj comic cover hell they could have just adapted nagraj,” commented a reddit user.

“I was wondering why this pic looks so familiar. Now I know why 🙃🙂 But the reason behind using this may not be because they didn’t want to put in effort though. They were probably in some hurry to announce this but couldn’t shoot anything since Kartik is still in his 🦁 look. Hence recycling the old photo,” said another.
“This is absolutely wild. They were so rushed to announce their shitty project, they couldn’t even fix dates for a dedicated shoot.
The poster and the visuals look unbelievably bad for a 2025 title. It’s downright nonsense, and the name is a joke. This entire film feels like a prank, targeted towards kids who are much smarter than what they give credit to. Fuck them honestly.”
