5 Times Salman Khan Romanced Much Younger Heroines And The Films FLOPPED

Bollywood, for a while, has been hooked with the trend of pairing young actresses opposite actors in their 50s or 60s. The trend is among those old superstars who are just not ready to experiment with their characters and continue playing the macho savior on-screen HERO. One of them is Superstar Salman Khan who’s by the way 59 years old. Salman Khan’s Sikandar movie made us all wonder if he’s always going to play the HERO who sets on a journey to end corruption and on the side, loves to dance with young actresses, probably in their 20s or early 30s.

Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna in Sikandar didn’t work well on-screen. The age gap made us all awkward seeing Salman romancing Rashmika who’s just 28 years old. Sikandar is struggling at the box office. Let’s look at the other times when Salman Khan romanced young actresses and the film didn’t work.

Salman Khan Romancing Young Actresses

Let’s talk about Salman Khan’s age gap movies and his actresses where his on-screen romance with young heroines failed to impress.

1. Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna in Sikandar

The most recent Salman Khan movie is Sikandar in which he is romancing 28 year old Rashmika Mandanna. The movie lags behind Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava. Sikandar’s box office collection so far has only been Rs 55 crore.

2. Salman Khan and Disha Patani in Radhe

Although the film didn’t work at the box office, Radhe impresses the audience with its blockbuster songs, all thanks to Disha Patani. In this movie too, Salman Khan plays a cop who vows to finish the drug mafias. What’s the point of having Disha in the movie? Songs?

3. Salman Khan And Sneha Ullal In Lucky: No Time For Love

Sneha Ullal was just 17 years old when she featured in Lucky: No Time For Love. The film failed at the box office. However, it has some of the most soothing songs sung by Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Adnan Sani and more. Salman Khan and Sneha Ullal’s on-screen chemistry looked awkward at first but it makes a space in your heart as you watch it, probably because the story was different.

4. Salman Khan And Pooja Hegde In Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan

When Salman Khan romanced 34 years old Pooja Hegde, it didn’t land right. The chemistry was offbeat despite the story being different. Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan was released on Eid, however, failed to work at the box office.

5. Salman Khan And Saiee Manjrekar In Dabangg

Imagine a hero in his 50s romancing an 18 year old girl. Yes, Saiee was just 18 when she made her debut in Dabangg opposite Salman Khan. The makers tried a prequel to the blockbuster Dabangg, however, the film was nowhere near part one.

Whether it’s box office flops, weak chemistry, or audiences rejecting forced romantic pairings, these instances prove that casting young actresses opposite older actors doesn’t always guarantee success.
